I met up with Mandy and Harris yesterday evening, both of whom I consider my inner circle. Being intimate friends for years, it really was easy to talk to them.

After a terribly filling dinner at Long John Silver, we went to the roof-garden to catch up on old times. We had a short game of Truth or Dare, of which, the choice of truth was chosen every time. Awkward questions, answered with a squirm. It was a nice, amusing and revealing ice-breaker.

We were joined by a few other friends later, at night: Iskandar, Parthibun and Teck Khang. In a circle, we gathered at the playground, having a game of ‘Opinion’. For the game, each person had to seek the group’s opinion about themselves, by asking a question. The group is obliged to answer honestly. You are allowed to skip a turn at asking a question if you have done so during the previous round.

Having a stupid fear of judgment, I gave ineffective opinions to the others. I was afraid that I’d be laughed at if I opened up. This just about sums up why I stay as the quiet observer when in a group. To worry about not looking stupid until you forget to think.
